Well folks, summer is supposed to be here.

Even though our weather isn’t great at the moment but here’s hoping.

I am lucky enough to be going on holidays in September.

I am picking up a few bits in the shops as I go.

I love a good summer haul, and where better than the Athlone town centre to indulge in a little retail therapy.

So grab the girls and jump in the car, or get take the train.

You could even make a night of it.

I had my Hen party in Athlone last January and we had an absolute ball.

So what’s hot for summer 2015??

I’m absolutely in love with all the fab high waisted jeans and shorts that are in the shops at the moment.

Especially these fab River Island ones with a longer leg too.

No harm in a bit of extra comfort while your out and about in the sunshine.

If you ask me high waist is the only “waist to go”

High waisted clothing helps to elongate the body.

They also hide the tummy area which can be a problem.

Especially for us Mums.

Pair them with these fab sandals from

Clarke’s for a boho summer look, with the added bonus of comfort and style.

The same goes for swimwear, a high waisted bikini bottom is your best friend.

River island have these gorgeous ones at the moment.

I would definitely feel a lot more confident on the beach wearing something with a higher waistband.

Helps hide the evidence of any holiday treats.

In general I’m a huge fan of high waisted anything really.

I find River Island has embraced the trend more than any other high street store.

Although high waisted jeans are popping up a lot in New Look lately.

Also Vero Moda do some great high waisted jeans.

Team up with a Crochet style top and show off your sun kissed skin.

This Zara one is a beaut.

So that’s it Folks, hope you like my summer picks.

You will find, River Island, Vero Moda, clarkes and ZAra all under one roof at the fabulous Athlone town Centre.

Along with H&M, elverys, top shop and loads more.

I often travel to Athlone from Mayo.

It usually takes me about 1 hour 30 mins or so from Castlebar.

I find the easiest route for me is to head straight down the N5 (Dublin road)

Take a right turn at Tulsk and head into Roscommon town and onto Athlone.

Parking at the Sheraton/ Athlone town centre is very reasonable and really handy if it’s raining.

(The joys of living in Ireland eh??)

There’s also a few great places to eat, I usually go to o Briens myself but there’s a few places to chose from in the centre.

So there You have it, I hope you enjoyed this post and Thank you for reading.

Happy Shopping.

Love , Maria  xx
