So, I completed my first week at Unislim and had a fantastic loss of 5 &1/2 lbs. I was absolutely delighted with this result. I worked for it, and I got it. Weight loss is hard work and I don’t care what anyone says. It takes a lot of willpower as well as forward planning, and clever decision making. I call myself “the slut of slimming clubs” because I have been to them all. From Weight Watchers, to Slimming world to Motivation clinics, Gyms, Clean Eating, Calorie counting etc I have tried them all. They all taught me a little bit, & actually they all work for a while at least, but its still a struggle for me every single day. I find it easy enough to maintain my weight but its harder to get those numbers down on the scale.

So I threw myself into the Unislim plan with full force. I really want to lose a stone for Our honeymoon in September. We got married in March and opted to delay Our honeymoon for six months . I decided not to use my treat allowance for junk food on my first week. I still used them on Saturday & Sunday but I chose to make a Yummy Sunday brunch of pancakes with maple syrup instead of indulging in alcohol, chocolate or crisps. I meal planed everyday and took my lunch with me to work. I also insisted that Mr Dillon join me on my unislim journey. It helps when there’s two cooking & eating the same thing. Sarah who works with me in the salon is also on unislim so this helps too, We keep apples and plums in the salon to snack on throughout the day. I made oattyberry bites from the unislim website, they are lovely with a cup of tea and only 1 yum each. My allowance is 7.

Check them out here

http://unislim.com/recipes/sunshine-picnic-bars/

I walked for an hour three times during the week, I counted and tracked every bite all week. Its not always easy to have perfect weeks & I’m sure I’ll have weeks where things don’t go so well. For now I’m going to keep my head down and try to be as good as I can. From past experience I find the first month on any new plan is where I can make the most headway. I use little mind tricks to keep me motivated. Writing down goals can really motivate me, I make a list of the advantages and disadvantages of reaching my goal. It sounds silly, but hey whatever works eh? I wont be complaining when I’m on the beach in Cancun now will I?

I hope You have enjoyed this post, If anyone is interested in joining Unislim have a look on unislim.com for a class near You. I go to the Westport group but there is one in Castlebar on Saturday morning at the tennis club.

Thank You for reading, & have a lovely Sunday,

Love Maria xx

So I’ve survived my first day on unislim. It went absolutely fine.

I was prepared and that always helps.

All lean meats and poultry are free on US once the fat is trimmed off.

All veg is free, most fruits are free except the high sugar ones.

There is a carb allowance once I stick to the guidelines I’m ok.

All extras have a YUM value.

So here’s what I ate.

For breakfast I had an omelette

1 egg, peppers, mushrooms, tomato, onion & spinach. All free.

With a 30g slice of wholemeal toast.

I weighed my slice of bread and it was 40g so I cut the top off.

Portion control is crucial for weight loss. In my experience I have only ever lost weight when I have been mindful of my portions.

I used a teaspoon of ballymaloe relish this was 1 yum.

For lunch I took a chicken salad with me to work.

It was 3/4 of a medium chicken fillet.

There is no limits to the amount of lean chicken you can have on US but I felt this was plenty for me.

Salad was spinach, cucumber, onion peppers and a few grapes.

I was allowed 60g of carbs here too but I didnt feel I needed anymore food so I didn’t bother.

I had kept the other 1/4 for my 11 am snack.

I also took a hard boiled egg, & 30g cashew nuts as snacks.

The cashew nuts are yummed at 2&1/2 Yums.

The grapes are 1/2 yum for 15.

I split them between my salad and my snack.

I am highly sensitive to sugar & my body reacts to it by craving intensely.

Any sugary snack will send me crazy.

That’s the reason why I use nuts as a snack they are high in protein but also high in calories.

Once I weigh them they are perfectly fine.

I also took a few strawberries and grapes as a little dessert.

So around 4.30 pm I was feeling peckish again.

This is where I had my nuts and a hard boiled egg with a glass of sparkling water.

I got home from work about 6.45 or so.

I had an apple and a cup of tea with skimmed milk while I was making dinner.

We had garlic and oregano chicken from the U.S book.

I wouldn’t usually eat chicken twice in one day but they were in the fridge ready to go.

Cover 2 chicken fillets in oregano and fresh garlic add a drop of water.

Marinade for 20 mins.

Bake at 200degrees for 20 mins or until cooked through.

There was 2 potatoes left from the night before so I chopped them up, added a few herbs with 1 cal spray and a bit of Franks hot sauce (free) And baked them for 15 minutes or until crispy.

I threw a bit of salad in a bowl and voila Dinner was ready.

Even Mr Dillon thought it was lovely.

My yum allowance is 7 do I’ve only used 4.

I also earned 4 Yums by walking for an hour.

All in all the day went great & im certainly not hungry.

Looking forward to tomorrow already.
